Blog 14: Voice of Love

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends… I Cor. 13:4-8

As this is the month that we typically think about love and this is Blog 14, I thought writing about the Voice of Love would be an exciting post. One of my favorite quotes about love is from the New Testament and sums up all aspects of love. If we could love like these verses suggest, our lives and that of others would be quite different. The rest of this post will contain quotes about love.

“Love myself I do. Not everything, but I love the good as well as the bad. I love my crazy lifestyle, and I love my hard discipline. I love my freedom of speech and the way my eyes get dark when I'm tired. I love that I have learned to trust people with my heart, even if it will get broken. I am proud of everything that I am and will become.” Johnny Weir

“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.” Brad Henry

“Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.” Martin Luther King, Jr.

“The greatest healing therapy is friendship and love.” Hubert H. Humphrey

“If we lose love and self respect for each other, this is how we finally die.” Maya Angelou

“We’ve been infected with this idea that love is an emotion only felt between two people. But love is universal, an energy, a contagious force, a gift. To offer money to a homeless man is to love. To save a worm from the sun is to love. To smile at a stranger is love. To be grateful, to be hopeful, to be brave, to be forgiving, to be proud is to love. A. R. Lucas

“If we really want to love we must learn how to forgive.” Mother Teresa

“There’s no fear in love. Instead complete love drives out fear.” I John 4:18

“Accustom yourself continually to make many acts of love, for they enkindle and melt the soul.” Saint Teresa of Avila

Let’s seek to love each other and especially those that are different from us and need our love even more! Using our Voice of Love, make one goal to seek to know someone different than you - whether, different religion, different race, different able-bodied, different socio-economic status…..
